LA PAZ, DE ARISTÓFANES, EN VERSIÓN DE FRANCISCO NIEVA: UNA CEREMONIA GROTESCA

Resumen: Francisco Nieva es autor de una excelente adaptación de la obra de Aristófanes, La paz. Se estrenó en el Festival de Teatro de Mérida en 1977. Nieva transforma la obra de Aristófanes y la adapta a la realidad española cambiando el papel de muchos de los personajes. El tono burlesco e irónico se consigue por medio del humor. La calidad literaria del texto se ve en la riqueza del vocabulario, en las imágenes superrealistas, en los neologismos… y en las variadas construcciones lingüísticas.

THE PEACE, BY ARISTOFANES, FRANCISCO NIEVA'S VERSION: A GROTESQUE CEREMONY

Abstract: Francisco Nieva completed an excellent adaptation of the Aristophanes' work, La Paz. It was performed for the first time at the Merida's Theater festival in 1977. Nieva transforms Aristophanes’ work and adapts it to the Spanish reality changing most of the leading roles. The mocking and ironic tone is archived by the usage of humor. The literary quality of the text can be seen in the richness of the vocabulary, in the super realistic images, in the neologism... and in the multiple language constructions
