EL CENTENARIO DE LA SEÑORITA DE TREVÉLEZ (1916), DE CARLOS ARNICHES

Resumen: Con motivo del centenario del estreno de La señorita de Trevélez, de Carlos Arniches, el presente artículo analiza las circunstancias de este acontecimiento teatral, su repercusión en la trayectoria del comediógrafo alicantino y, por último, las razones que justifican la consideración de la citada tragedia grotesca como una de las obras clave del teatro español del siglo XX. Asimismo, el artículo repasa las más destacadas puestas en escena de la obra y sus adaptaciones cinematográficas.

THE CENTENARY OF CARLOS ARNICHES’S LA SEÑORITA DE TREVÉLEZ (1916)

Abstract: On the occasion of the premiere of Carlos Arniches’s La señorita de Trevelez, this article analyzes the circumstances of this theatre event, his effect in the trajectory of the playwright from Alicante and, at last, the reasons that show the consideration of that bizarre tragedy as one of the key plays of XX Century’s Spanish theatre. Likewise, this article revises some of the most renowned mise en scéne of this play and his film adaptations.
