Resumen: Antonio Buero Vallejo hizo una versión al español de la obra de Brecht Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder, que se estrenó el 6 de octubre de 1966 en Madrid en un montaje de José Tamayo que obtuvo un gran éxito de crítica y público. En el presente trabajo se comparan la versión bueriana con el texto alemán y con la traducción de Miguel Sáenz. Se examinan también las diferencias entre el teatro dramático y el épico.

ANTONIO BUERO VALLEJO Y BERTOLT BRECHT. THE SPANISH VERSION OF MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN
Abstract: Antonio Buero Vallejo produced a Spanish version of Brecht’s play Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder, which was first performed in Madrid on 6 October 1966 under the direction of José Tamayo and which was a great success with critics and audiences alike. This paper draws a comparison between Buero’s version, the German text, and the translation by Miguel Sáenz. Attention is also given to the differences between epic and dramatic theatre.
